Seams from Islands in UV editor makes existing seams disappear

System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: GTX 1060

Blender Version
Broken: (example: 2.80, edbf15d3c044, master, 2018-11-28, as found on the splash screen)
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

When unwrapping polygons without seams and then using "Seams from Islands" feature it erases all the other existing seams

mark seams manually, then select any random set of polygons and make seams from islands in the UV menu, manually made seams will disappear
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

Checked code here, and it explicitly clears all seams before finding new seams.
So it looks like this is intended behavior.

This (optionally keep existing seams) seems like a useful addition/enhancement, but since current code is working as intended, this will not be considered a bug atm.

Thanks for the report, but the issue reported here is a request for modified/improved behavior and not a bug in current behavior. Closing as this bug tracker is only for bugs and errors (unless we want to keep this as TODO for T63731: Modeling Module).
