Simple ball shooting animation not working as before #75557

Operating system: win7
Graphics card: gtx970m

Broken: 2.80, 2.81a, 2.82a, 2.83-1239cab11ff9
Worked: 2.79b

I've tried to create a simple shooting ball and while the effect was ok with blender 2.79b it won't work the same
way on the specified "broken" versions. I'm not sure if the way to make these type of animations has changed of
if this it's really an existing bug.

Demo: Blender 2.79b vs 2.82

You'll find the .blend file ready to display the issue below.

@mano-wii Hi, thanks for looking into this one... sorry if my question is too dumb but I see in the original thread (as you said this is probably a duplicate therefore should be closed) there are some commits that fix this one... if I wanted
to check if the bug is gone with such commits, which branch should i checkout? Or do I need to wait till they've got merged to master and then to download from blender's site?

Thanks!

There are no commits fixing this.
The solution is not simple, we have to wait for a plan and someone who is willing to dedicate themselves to solve it.

@mano-wii Ah, ok ok, ty to confirm... i understand. Because i saw there was an ongoing review i assumed the fix was already getting in shape...

Btw, usually when there is an issue in progress, is there any easy way to figure out what's the remote branch it's been built upon? Anyway, I guess i'll google out to check if there are any
available guidelines explaining how the git flow works when contributing to blender, how to post issues, etc...
