Short description of error
Mantaflow ignores obstacles when resuming the bakingprocess

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Create a fluidsim with an obstacle. pause the baking and resume ist. Mantaflow ignores the obstacle since the Point of resuming.

  • Open blend
  • hit Bake Data
  • hit at something like frame 25
  • hit Resume
  • let it bake till the end
  • inspect the bake --> particles start falling through the Collision Effector (Sphere) from the frame where bake was resumed...

a is the uninterrupted baking, b is interrupted at frame 8. So frame b9 b10 b11 ignore the sphere.
File + two cache folders:
both have the same name except that the uninterrupted cache folder has an extra 1 in the end.

This needs a sample file, we need to stop accepting these reports with incomplete information.

@Ankit Meel (ankitm) thanks for helping with triaging, but if you are to do the work from the report, we still need the basic information, a simple .blend file to reproduce the issue, and images attached to this task.
Files hosted externally are not valid.

@Philipp Oeser (lichtwerk) if this is confirmed, then again, I would expect the task description to have all the information required to reproduce this (e.g., the .blend)

Confirmed in today's builds (8cb10c124efe)

I had in fact created another task (T75851) before realizing it was a duplicate.

Closed that one, I report the reproduction steps here ↓

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Note: because of T75850 the order of operation here is fundamental to reproduce

  • Default file. (Activate X-Ray)
  • Default cube: Add: Fluid > Effector
  • Add Plane. Move up Z +2.
  • Add: Fluid > Flow > Type Liquid; Flow Source > Is Planar
  • Add new cube at origin. Scale up by 2.5.
  • Add: Fluid > Domain > Type Liquid
  • Cache type: Modular. Frame end: 10
  • Bake Data
    • The effector is correclty taken into account
  • Cache frame end: increase to 20
  • Resume
    • The effector is ignored from frame 11 onwards

Similarly to T75758, this issue should be resolved since cdc399a05537. So closing this report, thanks for reporting!
