System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.18362-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1660 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 442.19

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.90 (sub 0), branch: master, commit date: 2020-04-18 00:20, hash: f96a689b3b
Also Broken on 2.82 official release

Short description of error

Value Slider on the Right of the Color Wheel (or on the HSL) is affecting the hue and saturation with weird behavior.
When I slide the 'value' of white to black on the right of the color wheel or on the 'value' for the HSL it begins affecting the Hue and Saturation while the user only changes the Value by sliding it up and down (do it over and over again to really see it get weird).

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Navigate to Blender Preferences - Themes Menu - 3D View - Theme Space - Gradient Colors - Gradient High/Off & Gradient Low
  • Select a color on the wheel.
  • Play with the 'Value' sliders on the right side of Color Wheel and on the HSL. The more you slide up and down the more the hue and saturation seem to change.

Let me know if I can help with any more info.

Thanks and Best Regards,

blanchsb

Cannot redo. When I move the dot up or down, only "value" changes.
Please retry in the blender session you get at running blender_factory_startup.cmd
I'm using 1f1520a045

Hopefully this is sufficient:

Just downloaded fresh factory version of blender 2.9 Alpha today on a separate computer and immediately went to edit preferences and was able to see this happen AFTERI selected a color on the Color WheelANDstarted adjusting the Black/White slider value up and down over and over again. You can see the hue and saturation values changing while sliding the Black/White slider.System Information

I'm only seeing this behavior on the 3D View - Theme Space - Gradient colors (it happens on both "Gradient High/Off" and "Gradient Low" color selection).
I have not noticed this happening on any other location that can change color.
I saved a video of this from Clean install to bug behavior.

Let me know how else I can help.

AFTER I selected a color on the Color Wheel

yes this is important bit. by default it is set to values where H&S don't change. .
Looks like floating point error.

I think this is the same issue as in #69562 (Manipulating saturation of colors (e.g via HSV or RGB curves, but also within color picker) shifts HUE), will merge these reports.

This is more like a duplicate of #80809 (UI: Color picker lightness/value changes Hue and Saturation (only in Preferences > Themes?)) actually
