While reading https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/scene_layout/object/properties/relations/parents.html I noticed the following things:

  1. The subsection "Object (Keep Transform) Parent" describes selecting with RMB instead of the now default LMB

  2. The text under "Object Parent" says

"Object Parent is the most general form of parenting that Blender supports. If will take selected objects and make the last selected object the parent object, while all other selected objects will be child objects.

a. The sentence starting "If will" should start "It will"
b. I guess technically it's the active object that is used as the parent object, although in most cases the last selected object is also the active one (but for example changing the selection using right-clicking in the outliner can alter the selection without changing the active object). In the introduction under "Make Parent" the active object is correctly mentioned.

  1. Under "Make Parent" the Shift-Ctrl-P shortcut is mentioned, but that doesn't seem to work for me with 2.82.7. No matter how many objects I select Shift-Ctrl-P never creates a parenting relation for me.

  2. Similar to point 3 the shortcut Alt-O under "Move Child" also doesn't seem to work for me when having a child selected. Or at least I can't seem to create a parenting situation in which Alt-O has any effect (never see a child move)

  3. The description under Parent Inverse suggests that not using the parent inverse is a separate mode of parenting, but isn't it merely that the parent inverse is the identity matrix initially? I.e. even when parenting with using the parent inverse matrix that doesn't change after parenting even when the parent is transformed.

I believe I have fixed many of these issues in rBM6545

Note: I am working on updating the manual to Blender 2.8X here: #75511
