System Information
Operating system: Windows 7 64bit Pro
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 970 GTX

Blender Version
Broken: 2.83, 000fdd8a6e, Beta, 2020-05-04

Short description of error
After parenting an object to a curve and setting the parent type to motion path, when played back it stops at 100 frames even though there is 250 frames in blender scene, and the motion paths settings for both objects are set to end at frame 250.

I noticed there is also a button in Motion Paths to calculate object paths Start and End. This seems to only overlay a path with some vertics on it but does not affect the motion. When we change the end. While messing around with all of the parameters under the Motion Paths tab, nothing seems to affect the motion at all regardless of the object or curve being selected at the time.

If this is not broken and is expected behavior, it seems like it should be cleaned up so that the actual Motion Paths actually affects motion paths. If its not a bug this seems a bit un-intuitive. I don't remember motion paths being a hard thing to setup.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Add Curve > Circle
  2. Add Mesh, Spere (or any objects).
  3. Move the 2nd object so it lines up with the curve then Shift Select the curve, press Ctrl+p to parent the object to motion path.
  4. Press Spacebar to see playback. Notice it followes the path for frames 1-100.
  5. Edit various settings on the Motion Paths tab and notice that nothing affects the motion path.
