Anaglyph 3D not showing in backdrop of compositor.

Short description of error:
In Blender 2.83 and 2.90, the stereoscopic image will not show as anaglyph 3D in the compositor when using a viewer node.
Is this a purposeful decision or a bug. I was unable to find anything that stuck out as the cause for this change when I ran a search over this site for other tasks or commits about this.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error:
Open the Blend file, render an image, and compare the results in the backdrop of the compositor between 2.82a and 2.83/2.90. Notice how the anaglyph 3D doesn't show up in the backdrop of the compositor in 2.83 and 2.90?

Steps to reproduce from scratch:

  1. Open Blender.
  2. In the properties panel under the "Output" tab enable "Stereoscopy".
  3. Render an image.
  4. Open a compositor, tick "Use Nodes" and enable "Backdrop".
  5. Add a viewer node and connect the "Image" output of the render layers node to the viewer node.
  6. If you did these steps for both 2.82a and 2.83/2.90, you will notice that 2.82a shows a anaglyph 3D image in the backdrop of the compositor while 2.83/2.90 shows a standard image.
