Blender crashes: shortest path selection with «face stepping» when there no faces

Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error




Expected warning message «there is no faces», no crash, selection remains.
In the first example user can do it if he don`t know what option do or there is missed faces on surface.
In the second one — setting just automatically applied, if user used it before.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
a) Select shortest path (edges) and then chech «Face stepping».
b) Select on surface with Face stepping, then do it on grid and get crash.
