Short description of error
Backface culling setting applies in Material Preview shading and affects selectability.
Expected: if it is visible and selectable, I should be able to select it.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open file
  2. Try to select octagon

This is a design issue. The selection engine does not know how the render engine draws the object (and it's culling property). EEVEE let you change culling per material so it's quite different.

Enforcing no backface culling in material preview would be as strange.
