Show select mode hotkeys on select switch hover
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

For buttons that have a hotkey, Blender usually displays this hotkey in the hover tooltip, greatly improving learnability. Since 2.8 (I think) there's a new hotkey for the vertex, edge, and face selection modes - the "1" to "3" number keys, respectively (edit mode).

However, these hotkeys are not displayed in the tooltip for the selection mode switch. Would be nice if new users could easily learn about the current hotkey from a tooltip - when I see no hotkey in this popup, I usually assume it doesn't exist.

Thanks for the report.

I agree that this would be helpful. However, this isn't a bug with the current implementation, it's more of a UI papercut, which we can't keep track of here in the bug tracker, there are just too many. (See https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Reference/Not_a_bug)
