System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.17763-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 442.92

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.83.0, branch: master, commit date: 2020-06-03 14:38, hash: 211b6c29f7
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
I have been suffering from this bug for three days in a row. It is random, but it happens when I use Ctrl + Z or Ctrl + Shift + Z

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Nothing special steps, it's random but it happens to me at least once a day.
[Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible)]

Seems like it may be related to #77441 which has been fixed.

Are you able to test with an updated version of 2.90.0? http://builder.blender.org/

It also happened to me in a non-specific/random way twice on 2.83 when I used Ctrl + Shift +Z (a few times?), then, Blender quit instantly. I also have the temp file for when it crashed, but I wasn't doing anything really graphics intensive so I speculate it to be the software's fault. Additionally, I had undo steps at 256, but I know that amount shouldn't take up much ram. I think I will try out 2.90.

Sorry, I mis-read your original report and thought you were originally reporting about a issue with 2.90.

I can confirm this is a consistent and constant issue for me since I undo/redo a lot. I've never had any software crash this much in one day. This is with the regular Blender 2.83 release, not Beta, on an up to date Windows 10.

A recent problem in the undo system has been fixed.
It could look like random crashes.
Can you try the latest daily build and confirm if the problem still is seen? https://builder.blender.org/download/

Can confirm undo/redo crash is still not fixed on 2.90;
I don't know what else to add because all I'm doing is following tutorials.

Hi everyone!

Yes, this has been happening to me since Blender 2.80 in different machines. I'm an avid Photoshop and Zbrush user, and thus I'm very used to do multiple "ctrl+z" per time unit lol. When working in blender I know that if I press that key combination repeatedly, it's going to crash. It doesn't even have to be handling large files for it to happen, even though it definetely happens a lot more if the memory usage is more elevated. I hope they can fix this. I'm already filling up a bug report, but I doubt it has something to do with my PC or my version of Blender, since it has happened to me on different setups.

Cheers!
