System Information
Operating system: MacOS Sierra - Versione 10.12.6
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB
Blender Version
Broken: 2.83.0 (2020-06-03), 2.90 (2020-06-12)
Worked: 2.82a
Short description of error
A strange flicker happens when I select the faces of the cube.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
I select the cube.
I change the visualization in Edit Mode.
I set select mode to Face.
I select the faces of the cube but they do not remain selected instead, a strange flicker of the object occurs. Here a video example:

I can't reproduce the problem.
Can try the latest development snapshot of blender: https://builder.blender.org/download
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.18941 64 Bits
Graphics card: Radeon (TM) RX 480 Graphics ATI Technologies Inc. 4.5.13586 Core Profile Context 19.50.01.05 26.20.15001.5006
Changed status from 'Needs Triage' to: 'Needs Developer To Reproduce'
I downloaded the last 2.83 version but I continue to have the same problem when I select model face.
Changed status from 'Needs Developer To Reproduce' to: 'Needs User Info'
@UmbertoOldani, you forgot to include information about a version of Blender that works.
Did you try 2.82?
Blender 2.82a works well, I have this problem with 2.83 version
Thanks for the info.
Sorry for the insistence but did you try version 2.90? https://builder.blender.org/download
Presently no, but I can try it now...
Also in 2.9 version of blender I have the same problem
Changed status from 'Needs User Info' to: 'Needs Developer To Reproduce'
Any News??

Apparently we don't have a developer with the same setup to reproduce and fix the problem.
Also, you have been the only one to report this problem so far.
This is most likely a problem with the OpenGL driver, which is maintained by Nvidia and Mac and not by Blender.
But it is strange that it works ok in 2.82a and not in 2.83.0 (@fclem, any leads?)
Many bugs are fixed between the official releases. Please keep trying the latest development snapshot of blender: https://builder.blender.org/download
I don't have AMD Graphic card in my iMac, but as I wrote before I have this setup:
System Information
Operating system: MacOS Sierra - Versione 10.12.6
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB
Please give us the full system-infos.txt. Also did you tried disabling all antialiasing options in the preference menu?
Where I find antialas in the preference menu?
Oops my bad, I meant Nvidia. (comment edited)
This is the screenshot of iMac Configuration:
Under Preferences->Viewport->Quality
https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/editors/preferences/viewport.html
OK, I disabled Anti Alias and now Blender works correctly, but I can have good render anyway?
In 2.82a versione AntiAlias is set to 8 samples... why in this version Blender works well and in 2.83 version it doesn't work?
Hi, now I have another problem with 2.83 version.
During Material Preview Mode, Blender crashing... At this point I think the NVidia GTX 680MX doesn't work with the new versions of Blender.

Yes, AA setting in user preferences does not influence render result.
Probably code has been changed

Related to #77325. Old Mac + Nvidia seems to be giving trouble with 2.83.

Ok, I updated today from OSX 10.12.6 to 10.13.6, this fixed it for me!
Nvidia cards are no longer supported on macOS, closing.
