Short description of error
Layers, used by other layers as masks, are always rendered when they have a viewlayer filter applied in all render passes.
I feel a layer used as a mask for other layers and with viewlayer filtering it should work as a mask even when it is not rendered in a pass.
I don't know if this is intentional, a time limitation, or a complex implementation.
Assess whether this squares as a bug or feature recuest. Thank you very much for your wonderful work.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

This is done by design. Actually, if you use a layer as mask it must be included in the render pipeline, so if you filter
mask
layer in viewlayer1 but usemask
layer in viewlayer2, themask
will be included.I had to include the mask in

@fclem any thought about this? Maybe you know a better fix.
Edit: I could try to filter the mask to viewlayer only if it used, but this will add render time.
Grease Pencil: Layers used as mask and with viewlayer filter applied are rendered in all passes.to GPencil: Layers used as mask and with viewlayer filter applied are rendered in all passes.I understand but, in that case, is it possible to automatically set the opacity of the layer to zero when it's used as a mask? Manually, it is impossible to set different opacity values for each viewlayer filter, if this were possible this option would solve the problem.
Thanks guys!
