Applying motiontracking data to a scene involving mantaflow smoke causes Cycles animation render to crash #78587

System Information
Operating system: Win 10 x64
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1660

Blender Version
Broken: (2.83.1 and 2.83)

Short description of error
After applying motiontracking to a scene, mantaflow smoke will crash animation rendering in cycles

After motiontracking camera solve and applying it and the floor/shadowcatcher I created a smoke sim and baked it. When happy I tried to render animation. After a couple of frames it fails and crashes blender (when watching the render frames, some frames mess up the aspect ratio, then shadow catcher will render black for a couple of frames and then will crash). I created a scene exactly the same way without motiontracking process and have no issues when adding a shadowcatcher. If I subsequently run motiontrack on that scene and apply, it causes the same problem. If you delete the shadowcatcher you can render the animation without issue. Therefore, shadowcatcher after motiontracking seems to be the culprit.

Have tried with different clips, different composition settings etc. same result each time.

EDIT: Further testing is showing that shadowcatch doesn't need to be present for it to crash. Without shadowcatcher it can go much longer but still crash. So it seems to be motiontracking data being applied that causes the issue maybe.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Step 1: Motion track a clip & apply camera solve to scene with floor.
Step 2: Create mantaflow smoke sim and bake
Step 3: Render animation in Cycles

I cannot reproduce this with either the latest stable or current development versions of Blender:

Please try the latest daily build: https://builder.blender.org/download/

Go to File → Defaults → Load Factory Settings and then load your file to see if you still can reproduce this issue.

If the problem persists, please give us more clear instructions on how to reproduce it from scratch.

I'm still struggling to render out smoke when there's movement in camera, but I can't work out what's causing it, I do know that the last thing I see before a crash is solid black in the render (using GPU and CPU rendering. Have downloaded the latest alpha and it seems to be working so it looks like I'll use that for any smoke work for now. If I can work out what's causing it better I'll be sure to let you know.

I tested it again on blender 2.83 and noticed that the blender crashes when trying to bake.
Due to gravity it may deserve to be confirmed as a bug.
But then the report would be another.

And it is quite possible that this same problem has already been reported.
So I will close as resolved since I cannot reproduce in blender 2.90
