Error baking particles in OSX

Operating system: Darwin-17.7.0-x86_64-i386-64bit 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN X OpenGL Engine NVIDIA Corporation 4.1 NVIDIA-10.33.0 387.10.10.10.40.135

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.83.1, branch: master, commit date: 2020-06-25 09:47, hash: rB8289fc688b3e
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
I have two particle emisor and when I try to bake it crash.
I try it in Linux and work perfectly!

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Open file
  2. Bake particles

This file is very complex, please strip it down as much as possible by removing objects and making sure it is still crashing.

Ok! Sorry...
I simplify it to only two particles generators.
When I try to bake all crashed again.


I get this error:
Blender(1117,0x70000f15f000) malloc: *** error for object 0x7ff1fc0c0400: pointer being freed was not allocated

  • set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug

Abort trap: 6

@(dcamino I am looking at older reports, is this still an issue? Or have anything changed?
