Blender doesn't load textures of model https://www.blendswap.com/blend/7951 (requires registration). Here's how it renders the model:

This bug report is a sequel of closed https://developer.blender.org/T81468 , and the issue was reported there (twice actually).
Just download the model owl.zip, hit F12 and compare the result in new and old versions.

This is a file from an old version of blender that was saved in a renderer that was removed (Blender Internal Render).
Cycles and Blender Internal Render do not have compatible materials.

There must be an addon that does an automatic conversion, but you will need to use Blender 2.79.
