System Information
Operating system: MAC OS (Catalina)
Graphics card: default (Mac mini Late 2012)

Blender Version
Broken: (example: 2.80, edbf15d3c0, master, 2018-11-28, as found on the splash screen)
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
Theres a force on the pieces of fractured cube rather than for them to just fall like pulling by gravity.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

  • On Blender preference add "cell fracture"
  1. Cube place on top of the y axis
  2. Added plane below the cube (add rigid body, set type to passive)
  3. Hide plane
  4. select cube and select annotate (placement: surface)
  5. draw on cube
  6. F3 and select cell fracture (Point Source: Annotation, Recursion: 153, Collection: "fractures")
  7. Select any piece and apply Physics (Rigid Body)
  8. Try to play
  9. Right Click collection named "fractures" and click select objects.
  10. On the Interface select Object > Rigid Body > Copy_From_Active
  11. Try to play.

You are doing something wrong, I ran into no issues.

However, if we follow exactly as you say

  1. Try to play

and then add the rest of the objects to the rigid body world, well now you're adding to an already started simulation.

Is what I would think would be wrong, but I tried that and it still worked.2020-10-27 11-40-28.mp4

Hi, I downloaded blender to my PC and it works as well. But in my Mac mini, its not doing well. Like theres a default force field or something.

Could you please describe in more detail what you mean? (maybe a screencast could also help here)
Please also share your example .blend file [before pressing play]

What I mean is that I downloaded Blender version 2.83 to my PC and my Mac, the task above works really well with the new install.

Before version with error was 2.9+

I already moved with my concern and you may closed the task. Thank you so much.

Sorry, this seems to have slipped under the radar.
