I cannot reproduce this issue. This may be related graphics driver or graphics card related issue. Unfortunately the bug report is incomplete and does not contain the required information.

Please save your system information (Help > Save System Info in Blender) and attach them to your bug report.

For future bug report, please create them through Help > Report a Bug in Blender. We expect all bug reports to follow the submission template . They need to contain the system information(operating system, GPU, driver version), affected Blender version, previous Blender version that worked properly, a short and precise description of the issue, step by step instructions to reproduce it and, if relevant, a minimal .blend file that showcases the problem.

Please see attached system information... This is my first submittal so I was a little curious on that part thanks for clarifying. Just to be sure and I've attached another screenshot, this is on Mac OS Catalina only and on EEVVEE render. I'm not sure about cycles...Screen Shot 2020-11-09 at 5.34.26 PM.png

oh, and also, I don't use a graphics card, altho I'm not sure that would have relevance as this is showing itself in "render" in viewport. nothing when hit "render" either, just all around transparent. Again, this is JUST when using nodes...

The graphics card is also required for basic operation of Blender, e.g. drawing the viewport or rendering Eevee. The issue you're having was already reported in #65873, which is why I merged this ticket.
