Thank you for your report. Unfortunately there are multiple issues with it:

  • The report is missing important information that would allow us to reproduce the issue and doesn't follow the submission template.
  • Blender 2.79 has reached its end of life in July 2019 and is no longer receiving updates, patches or corrective releases.
  • We don't provide bug fixes for third-party add-ons. Only bugs in add-ons shipped with Blender are handled on the bug tracker. For other issues, please contact the developer of the add-on.
  • We don't provide user support on the bug tracker. The bug tracker is only for bug reports.

That being said I would suspect that one of the add-ons causes the issue, e.g. xps_tools. You could try to start Blender with factory defaults from the command line.

  • Open the Windows Explorer ({key Win E}) and navigate to C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.79.
  • Type cmd into the path field and press enter

Run .\blender.exe --factory-startup

Should it start properly, the problem is caused either by an add-on or your user preferences.

If you need help using Blender, please post a question on one of our [community websites ]], for instance https:*blender.stackexchange.com/ , https:*blenderartists.org/ or the [ https:*blender.chat/channel/support | #support channel on Blender chat . The bug tracker is only for bug reports.

In case you believe that you've found a bug in a current version of Blender, please read [this guide ]]. It may help you write a bug report that allows us to fix your problem. Create a new bug report throughHelp > Report a Bugin Blender. We expect all bug reports to follow the [ https:*developer.blender.org/maniphest/task/edit/form/1/ | submission template . Please provide system information (operating system, GPU, driver version), affected Blender version, previous Blender version that worked properly, a short and precise description of the issue, step by step instructions to reproduce it and, if relevant, a minimal .blend file that showcases the problem.

okay, thank you, im new to this site. it was my user settings, they were somehow corrupted by an addon, (i think), thankfully my addons stayed, and all i had to do was tick them back on.
