Can confirm, afaict, Cameras should show up in the Environment category, lets see why that is not the case...

Two other things I noticed (not sure if they are related):

  • tootip is not working for environments and misce
  • Workspace is in the Environment category IDFilterBoolean, whereas it is in the Miscellaneous category in rna_def_fileselect_asset_params see D9911

@JulianEisel: I tried hunting this down, but looks like I am blind - cant find the reason at a reasonable time... mind checking?

Not sure if this is the cause of this particular issue, but I noticed this happens for other data-block types as well, eg grease-pencil data. I could get it to show up by editing the filter settings in the filter popover. Not sure why they are involved (the popover contents are more or less a dummy and need work, #82680).

However, as #84860 notes, we should entirely rework how we create the asset categories.

With the catalog system currently being worked on, this shouldn't be an issue anymore: https://code.blender.org/2021/06/asset-browser-workshop-outcomes/
For the 3.0 release we'll likely selectively only support asset types where we know they are supported well. So camera's may not end up being supported for the start even.
