AMD drivers ugly and broken. nVidia works perfect.
Try install latest Adrenalin 20.12.1.

They are trying to get a fix working right now with latest nightly I do believe so try that out before giving up hope on AMD drivers. But to be honest I got so mad at this last bug that I bought a GTX 1660 Super. Lol. AMD has come a long way but it is more for gaming than content creation in my opinion.

Please open Blender's installation directory and double click on the blender_debug_gpu.cmd. This will start Blender in debug mode and create log files. Try to make Blender crash again. Once it crashes the Windows Explorer should open and show you up to two files, a debug log and the system information. Add them to your bug report by clicking on the upload button as shown in the screenshot below or via drag and drop. Please also upload the crash log located in C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\Temp\[project name].crash.txt (or simply type %TEMP% into the path bar of the Windows Explorer).

This doesn't work, but thanks! I'm also thinking about to switch to Nvidia. Outside Blender the rx480 still does a great job on gaming.

My whole pc crashed now while I was trying to reproduce the steps. This was the error message on the blue screen: Stopcode: Driver_Irql_not_less_or_equal
I can't make these files because of this.

My Pc does work correctly on all of my other applications (Adobe, affinity, battlefield 1, V, battlefront 2 ,...) . And crashes only when I use the gpu option in blender (openCl is activated and my gpu + cpu is activated in the render devices). When I turn off 2 of the 3 devices (intel core i7-9700k and the last radeon rx 480 graphics) the gpu option works but I can't use cpu and gpu combined.

An other thing what I don't understand is why I have 2 gpu options in the menu. I only have on gpu instead of 2.

I will attach a screenshot of it.Screenshot 2021-01-06 135120.png

AMD again broke OpenGL, especially on video cards with the Polaris architecture.
Im Russian and every day i reading posts in the official Blender group in VK.
All owners of RX cards have gliches and artifacts in Blender.
Installing older drivers may solve this problem.
Or just wait when AMD release new big driver update with all fixes.

@Joren Please try to downgrade the graphics driver to version 20.11.1 all newer version are known to cause issues, see #82856. If your entire operating system crashes the issue is not in Blender but most likely in the graphics driver, OS or hardware. Given that many people report issues with the graphics driver, that is the most likeliest case.

@Joren Did this solve your problem or are you still getting crashes?

Hi Robert,
The issue is almost gone by the new Amd release in combination with the newest blender version 2.91.2.
Solved: I can combine a gpu with a cpu by selecting the first gpu and the cpu.
Issue: I have 1 gpu but I see 2 gpus in the menu. When I select both, the pc will crash.
I have made a screenshot from the preferences menu.
