System Information
Operating system: Ubuntu 20.10 (i3 wm)
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1660 Ti (driver=nvidia)
Blender Version
Broken:
c4c2c4bdb8
, master (Release build)Worked: Same hash, with
make developer debug ninja
Short description of error
Blender crashes when using the draw sculpt tool with dynatop enabled. It does not crash when using the development build. The release build will crash on attempts to load files created in the development build that used the dynatop tool.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).
Start with default cube. Goto sculpt mode. Enable dynatop in the toolshelf. Then use tool on cube.

Changed status from 'Needs Triage' to: 'Needs User Info'
I can't reproduce the problem on Linux or Windows with the most recent daily build based on
5804bf25bd
. I also cannot reproduce the issue with a release build ofc4c2c4bdb8
on Windows. There were only two commit in between, the one that fixed the severe undo bug73169628a1
andrBrBc13383da416c9c99d03058caaf66c736af0272cb
.Please open Blender's installation directory and double click on the
blender_debug_gpu.cmd
. This will start Blender in debug mode and create log files. Try to make Blender crash again. Once it crashes the Windows Explorer should open and show you up to two files, a debug log and the system information. Add them to your bug report by clicking on the upload button as shown in the screenshot below or via drag and drop. Please also upload the crash log located inC:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\Temp\[project name].crash.txt
(or simply type%TEMP%
into the path bar of the Windows Explorer).Changed status from 'Needs User Info' to: 'Archived'
No activity for more than a week. As per the tracker policy we assume the issue is gone and can be closed.
Thanks again for the report. If the problem persists please open a new report with the required information.
