Short description of error
It is quite simple, Dynamic paint causes the menu to become one column instead of sticking to two as shown in the video.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open up a new file, go to Physics Properties tab, click on Dynamic paint.

[Based on the default startup, no need to provide a file]

I can confirm this on the latest 2.93.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2021-02-08 10:36, hash: rBecfd5360a187.

This isn't a bug, it's a flow layout, which chooses whether to use 1 or 2 columns depending on the width of the buttons.

Not sure if there's a solution. Maybe just always using one column? Or two? Still, I think I'd just lean toward closing this.

I guess the question is why is it a 1 column layout for dynamic paint at certain scales? seems like it could be a 2 column layout for smaller scales?

Hmm, it's interesting that it's only the dynamic paint button that changes the number of columns.

It depends on the length of the text, when there is not enough space for the text it switches to a single column.
So when you activate dynamic paint there are additional buttons added and there is less space for text.

Sure but there is clearly enough space for the text no? It works for the other physics and it does not seem like there is more text for dynamic paint.

Is this can be caused by the one big "Add Canvas" button that can't scale down itself for a bug or sth?


But it is fine for one big "bake" button on the mantaflow though. So I don't know.

As @Yevgeny Makarov (jenkm) mentioned correctly, this is caused by the length of the text "Dynamic Paint".

I think it's best the UI team decides how to deal with this.

Isn't that "Rigid Body Constraint" longer than "Dynamic Paint"?
And it's not causing the issue.
