System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: RTX 3090

Blender Version
Broken: (2.92 RC)
Worked: (Always had this problem but occurs more frequent now)

Short description of error
Random selection of an object in the viewport. Seems to happen mostly right after saving the file then clicking in the viewport or when leaving Blender open for a while and clicking in the viewport.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
It randomly occurs but occurs so frequently. Sometimes a 4-5 times every hour. It does not matter the file type but happens most frequently on larger file sizes over 1GB.

Note: I've attempted with multiple Nvidia driver versions and it doesn't seem to make a noticeable difference. I use DDU when uninstalling driver versions prior to reinstalling. I also removed all error meshes in the scene.

E_cycles_2.91.2_release_v20210123_win_rtx(OptiX) doesn't seem to be one of the official blender builds.
The crash log reveals what problem started in cycles.
Please try with the daily builds: https://builder.blender.org/download/

If the problem persists, let us know. Don't forget to mention the specific version you tested again.

I have exactly the same problems.
Blender 2.91.1 up till daily 2.92
GPU 2 times RTX2080 TI with several Nvidia driver versions including the latest.

Because this happens very randomly it is not possible to reproduce as such on command but it is clearly linked to the save function (and autosave) and clicking somewhere in the Layout-viewport{F9842978}

and Here is another one with pure blender 2.92 downloaded today (Not E-Cycles - makes no differences whether using vanilla blender or E-Cycles). #030621_228OA_WB_FR_T4.crash.txt

Tried again with the latest Nvidia Driver 461.72. Same results.

I also uninstalled all old versions of Blender.
