Short description of error
I have a rigged prop (bones+skin). I have created an empty scene where I linked (like Maya Reference) the prop to. In this scene I have put (append) my character as well which is linked to a prop bone. Then I did some changes to the rig of the prop (added bones, added skinned geometry). On reload prop or loading the scene again, the state of the old prop still works and the new geometry and rig is added, but does not work. It has no library override. When I override it manually the new rig and geometry is duplikated and works as separate object.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error - no error, just does not work as expected.
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

Sorry it took so long to answer here.

I can reproduce this in 2.92, but in 2.93.2 anim_scene.blend now seems to work correctly.
(I have not hunted down the exact commit that fixed this)

@o_Oliver : can you confirm this is now working correctly for you? (you can also try in a fresh build from https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/)
