The time can be shown via a progress bar + the time display itself. The items are colored based on the min and max time it took calculate a node in one tree/group/panel :

  • Fast (fastest 1/3)
  • Normal (middle 1/3)
  • Critical (slowest 1/3)
  • Not yet executed (has never been calculated)
  • Baked (Indicator on a node that can be and is baked)

Styles (customizeable in the theme settings) :

While executing a Geometry Nodes Tree the progress gets shown via the width of the currently executed nodes progressbar :

Node Trees :

  • Geometry Nodes
  • Compositor Nodes
  • Scene Nodes (when added)
  • Particle Nodes (when added)

love the style upgrade. Would love to see this.

And personaly i think the "Execute Time only" is the best

The progress bar is a bit distracting but to have an execution time displayed is generally a interesting idea.

Jacques Lucke (JacquesLucke) renamed this task from Display excute time for nodes to Display execution time of nodes.Mar 29 2021, 11:38 AM

I've added a to do task for this functionality: T92982

I think we can handle design there as well as in chat. Since this is a fairly old task and things have evolved quite a bit since then, I'll close it. Thanks for the mockups!
