Face select not transfering to other modes under triangulate modifier

Short description of error
If you face select on edit mode, it will carry your selection to weight paint face select or texture paint face select or etc.
But if you have triangulate modifier on it will not carry it over.

I did not know this and there was not error message about this anywhere on blender.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Load this file:

you see some faces selected with triangulate modifier on.
go to weight paint or texture paint and you see none.

I know this might not be a bug but how software works BUT for a common artist, at least adding a message that it will not carry over selection would have been nice, or disabling triangulate on view automatically when you go to those modes.

I can confirm this issue on the latest 2.93.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2021-03-24 08:34, hash: rB865025c343ac. I don't know if this is a known issue, but it looks like this is working as intended with other modifiers.
