System Information
Operating system: Darwin-19.6.0-x86_64-i386-64bit 64 Bits
Graphics card: AMD Radeon Pro 580 OpenGL Engine ATI Technologies Inc. 4.1 ATI-3.10.19

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.92.0, branch: master, commit date: 2021-02-24 16:25, hash: 02948a2cab
Worked: Not sure... I upgraded from 2.82

Short description of error
In weight paint mode, I click the polygon selection button and click a polygon. Sometimes it crashes right there. Other times it may crash after I have selected a polygon and then press Command-L to select connected.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Click a polygon on one of the buttons on the jacket shown when loading the document. It should already be in polygon selection mode in weight paint mode when you load the file. It doesn't happen every time.

Updated repro steps:
Open the file. You will be in weight paint/polygon selection mode.
Click one of the buttons on the jacket that are in the green area of the weights.

Cannot reproduce on Linux. Neither with 2.92.0 nor with current 3.0.0. Tested restarting blender, loading the file and selecting, 6 times. Also tested the "Select Linked" command with no crash. Maybe it's Mac specific, someone needs to test this on Windows.

This seems to be the same as #84268 (Crash when selecting in weight mode (Paint Mask)), will merge these reports.
We could only really tell for sure if crash logs would be provided, but as long as we dont have them, I think it is safe to assume these are indeed duplicate reports.

Thanks, but the info for Mac just says that a crash reporter appears and I have to copy the text from that. However, no crash reporter appears. Blender just immediately disappears with no messages of any kind.

"The crash log will be presented through the macOS Crash Reporter. You will have to copy the text and save it in a file yourself."

OK, thx getting back, I think it is safe to assume that this will get fixed along with #84268 once that is done though, that is why it was closed as a duplicate
