System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19041-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce MX330/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 452.66

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.0.0 Alpha, branch: temp-lineart-contained (modified), commit date: 2021-04-27 07:10, hash: rB6b11df31af78
Worked: never

Short description of error
Not sure if this is by design or a bug, but modifiers such as thickness, noise... are not aplied to final render when not in Object mode.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
1.) Create grease pencil object or use Suzzane, throw some noise/thickness and other visual modifier on it.
2.) Render while in Object mode and compare to other modes.

Looks like this should be set by display icons in the modifiers, but they do nothing even in viewport

Event Timeline

I cannot reproduce... I get the same in Render than in View in any mode.

The button in the image above is only for Edit modes to display the modifier or not.

Germano Cavalcante (mano-wii) changed the task status from Needs Triage to Needs Information from User.Fri, Apr 30, 6:42 PM

I am not sure of the steps to reproduce the problem. (What other modes should I compare? Render with Viewport Render or Image Render?)
Could you provide a simple file showing the problem?

@Antonio Vazquez (antoniov) , @Germano Cavalcante (mano-wii) here is a test file:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hvns419zlfgqn9y/assets.blend?dl=0

it is saved in edit mode.

Here are gifs made of the two renders

the one that moves is with object selected being in Object mode
the second static render is produced while in Sculpt/ Edit, Draw mode

I only think this is problematic if user has a complex scene that renders for a long time.. and he discovers after the render that one object does not have modifiers applied because it was selected and in edit mode

The problem is not Edit Mode...it's Multiframe setting.
