Short description of error
Blender freezes after selecting "Expand Active Face Set" from the Sculpt Mode Face Sets menu, if a second mesh was previously added to the object.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Method 1:
With default cube selected, switch to Edit mode.
Add any mesh with Shift A.
Switch to Sculpt mode.
Select Expand Active Face Set from menu or with shortcut.

Method 2:
Duplicate the default cube.
Select both cubes and join them with CTRL J.
Switch to Sculpt mode.
Select Expand Active Face Set from menu or with shortcut.

  • Freeze is triggered when the active Face set includes all the faces of only one of the meshes.
  • There must be at least 2 meshes in the object for freeze to happen.
  • If part of the mesh has another face set color, the freeze will not be triggered.
  • If both meshes are using the same face set, the freeze will not be triggered.
