System Information
Operating system: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1650

Blender Version
Broken: 2.93Beta ea11b4e10c
Broken: 2.90.1
Worked: 2.83.6

When I try to export instance collections as alembic file, subdivisions are always applied even if apply_subdiv argument is set to False (when source collection is disabled or linked).

Open a fresh blender.
Delete all objects.
Create a Cube.
Create a subdivision surface modifier with 2 subdivions on this cube.
Put the cube in a collection.
Create an instance collection of this collection
Select instance collection
Exclude the source collection from the viewlayer
Export selection in abc (apply_subdiv=False)

Import abc file.
The cube have the subdivisions.

Note : it works like a charm when object mesh (the cube in our case) is exported.
Not working with instance collection (when source collection is disabled or linked).

Same behaviour with linked collections.
Instances of linked collections have their subdivisions applied.
