System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19041-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 620 Intel 4.5.0 - Build 27.20.100.8682

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.93.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2021-02-25 05:34, hash: rB0e1c6a29cbb2
Worked: 2.92

Caused by rB66923031e6f2: Cleanup: Minimize seq->tmp usage

Short description of error
According to the manual, the Select Linked command should " Selects strips, that are placed next to each other without any gaps.". The result of the command however is rather unpredictable.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Create a new Video Editing project
  • Add three text strips, next to each other without any gap. I can also be other strip types.
  • Use the command Select Linked; either with the menu or with the shortcut Ctrl+L. If no strips, or the first or last strip are selected, the first and last strip will be selected. If the middle one is selected, it stays selected.

Will dare setting to High, since it is a regression

After some more testing, I think that also the following Select commands are broken:

  • Select > Grouped : Global Type
  • Select > Grouped : Effect
  • Select > Grouped : Effect linked

After some more testing, I think that also the following Select commands are broken:

Yes they may be broken, but that shouldn't be a regression in 2.93

I would advise to make new report for these, even though I know that they need to be fixed.

  • Select > Grouped : Effect linked

This one should be fixed in 3.0
