Confirmed, NormalPublic

Description

System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19041-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 970/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 461.09

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.0.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2021-06-20 22:39, hash: rB6afafc46f639
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • open
  • see that there's just one instance in the bottom left corner
  • unmute Point Distribute node -> result's the same(one instance)
  • select Cube object and switch to Edit mode -> instances look correct
  • from the spreadsheet editor it's clear that instances were created

Funnily enough there seems to be a similar issue with particle system https://developer.blender.org/T84710

I can confirm with present instance object (Cube) but could not replicate the issue from scratch.

Confirming for now.

Found that the problem is only replicable when instance object has all isolated vertices.

Also, if I add any node from the Attribute category after the Point Instance node, all instances appear again.

Similar issue with mesh that consists only of edges(no faces) here https://developer.blender.org/T89728
