System Information
Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super

Blender Version
Broken: 2.93.0, 2.93.1, 2.93 LTS

Short description of error
In both 2.92 and 3.0.0 Alpha pressure sensitivity from the pen will be processed. In 2.93 LTS it will not.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Start any new file with factory default Blender settings. Create Grease Pencil object or select 2D Animation from the splash screen. Draw with pressure sensitivity turned on.

Hi! I can't reproduce it on 2.93.0, hash: 84da05a8b8 nor 3.0.0 Alpha, hash: 62d9dabc7d on Windows 8.1 64 Bits with a tablet Wacom Bamboo Connect, driver 5.3.5-3

It might be helpful to include your tablet model and driver in the bug report.

Wacom Intuos 5 touch PTH-850, driver 6.3.36-1

To clarify, the pressure sensitivity does work in 3.0.0 Alpha, just not in 2.93

@PrototypeNM1, do you know which commit fixes the issue in 3.0.0.?

Guess it is not backported yet. Not sure if problem is fixed in 3.0.0 because I don't have such system to test :(

@PratikPB2123 Likely 6f158f834d. I wouldn't consider this change as a back port candidate (unless by demand, after 3.0 release if there's no major issues).

If Windows Ink is set as the Tablet API the issue was likely fixed by the above commit's dynamic loading/unloading of Wintab.

@PrototypeNM1 , thanks for answering.

So do you think it's better to close the task? :)

Just noticed the report notes 2.92 did work. To my knowledge there shouldn't have been any tablet changes from 2.92 to 2.93.

This probably should be fixed. I'm available to answer questions but I won't be volunteering time to investigate or fix LTS releases.

I have just tried to use my tablet with 2.93 again and experienced no issue with pressure sensitivity. I did not change any settings. I have to assume whatever the issue was must have been user error on my part. I suspect that a driver update was what resolved the issue for me. Still, it is curious that 3.0 and 2.92 worked while 2.93 didn't, but it does not seem likely it was an issue with Blender. Issue resolved.
