EDIT (fixed): solution was to select Domain cube object and go to particles tab and delete/remove particle system as this seemed to cause the biggest issue

i am not 100% sure if this completely fixed it but i was able to bake a full simulation without issue

ok so i have been able to for the past several days run several simulations with blender in this exact scene and yet no matter what i do currently it wont get to frame 100 anymore

i dont understand why it cant just continue like it did last time because i was able to get it to simulate several times (see images below)

sphere water oops.JPG

the issue i was having before was a simple "make collision object bigger" so i added a torrid wall around where the camera is and its not that many extra polygons (only about 1,000 tris)

anyways so now i cant get it to finish and it leaves me with this error dump text no forcesnew waters VFX FINALS BASE GS.crash.txt

i dont know what to do because it was working and i literally did not change anything with the sim save for adding the torrid

the simulation settings are pictured below:

the cube domain object is 160meters by 160 meters by 160 meters and the fluids intent is to simulate a lake of water for an object to interact with

see preview below:

i know its not my specs as the simulation at the shown settings takes up ~58 gigs of RAM on the CPU (i have 64)

my CPU is an intel i9 9900k at 4.5ghz and temps have never gone above 75 during load

i chose a custom cache location so i can have 2 domain boxes (one for smoke and one for fluids)

i am running windows 10 pro 64bit 20h2

i am working for a client and i need the fluid to simulate to completion and i cant seem to figure this out myself

i dont know how to make it clear that it was working and would simulate to the end but now it wont even make it a third of the way through before it crashes to desktop

i uploaded my Blend file to MEGA and it has everything it needs packed within save for the cache files for the smoke

you may need to disable the smoke one or something i dunno

https://mega.nz/file/6EAQnZIZ#4ypERuv2PDP-C9QYDFb_xlVQWvKYvh5GUxgDPn5C-BI

at any rate i dont know what to do in order to fix it because i have tried everything i could think of (i even cleaned my registry)

i would try to bake this on my other PC but its 32 gigs of ram are not enough to work with this project

EDIT (fixed): solution was to select Domain cube object and go to particles tab and delete/remove particle system as this seemed to cause the biggest issue

Can you still reliably reproduce the crash with the same setup or was what you did just a workaround?
If it is still reproducible, can you try to simplify the file as much as possible? Remove as much objects as possible such that one can still reproduce the crash. Then provide detailed steps from opening the file to getting the crash.

@Ponlets Please check if this issue still happens in the most recent Blender version and if it does, supply a simplified file as requested by @OmarSquircleArt.
