System Information
Operating system: Windows 10 (Latest update as of 13:02 (BST) on 25/09/2021
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super (studio driver version 472.12)

Blender Version
Broken: 2.93.4
Worked: none so far

Short description of error

Blender will begin to load after being clicked, then immediately crash on start-up without an error log.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

Default startup. All I am doing is simply starting blender as a program, regardless of file.

These two images are the entirety of the code that plays before blender crashes entirely fir me. Using the steam version and independently downloaded version have both produced the same bug. Clearing my system cache has not fixed this so far (removing temporary file), using entirely re-downloaded versions of blender have not fixed this either.

After leaving my PC shut off for a while blender started up once, but then failed on every subsequent attempt since.

Can you try running blender --factory-startup from the installed Directory.

Hello, thank you very much for the quick reply.

This initially seemed to have solved the issue, but upon re-engaging the plug-ins I was previously using, the program once again crashes on start-up. This was also consistent with the steam version of blender.

However, upon reseting blender again, I discovered what the source of this crash most likely was.

Retopoflow 3.2.3 appears to crash blender if it is engaged upon start-up, or saved as a preference to be engaged when blender is closed and then re-opened, whereas version 3.1.0 does not have this issue.

As of right now, swapping back to the previous version has fixed this problem, and I have not lost any functionality. No issues were encountered with the other add-ons enabled, including cablerator, HardOps, Box-Cutter, Blender Malt (NPR renderer), the Lighting Boy Shader Materials, X-Muscle System, Voxel Heat Diffuse, Auto-Rig Pro and Animation Nodes; all of these were tested and engaged during the crash and were still engaged once blender started successfully.

Thank you very much for your help, and I hope that this information helps to resolve any future issues similar to this encountered by other users.

Correction. Upon shutting down my computer and the re-starting, blender is once again crashing upon start-up with retopoflow 3.1.0

This bug only seems to have started occurring on the last few days (24th/25th of September were the first instances of this bug I witnessed).

I believe it may have been the add-on called "Animation nodes".

I unticked and reangaded all the add-ons that I had used between different versions of blender, making sure all were up-to-date ahead of time, and that I still had the latest version of blender installed.

The only add-on that consistantly crashed blender when engaged was the animation nodes add-on. Retopoflow had no consistant effect on stability when this node alone was engaged, in both the old and newer versions.

Hi @leokisomma , thank you for reporting the issue. Animation nodes and Retopoflow are not maintained by blender

In that case could you please report this problem to the developers: https://github.com/JacquesLucke/animation_nodes/issues
