It has other mode settings, which explains the disfunctionality of the original hotkey.

Hi, thanks for the report. I think the key H is used for Toggle Face sets visibility: https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Reference/Release_Notes/2.83/Sculpt#Face_Sets

Not sure if I understand the report but the key H is not assigned for Invert Visible Face Sets.

Hmm. Okay. So we have in fact four different menu items to show and hide the face sets. But just two of them in the menu then?

I think module members can answer this even better.

(Not sure if these visibility option should be exposed in the menu since these functions are used to hide and toggle visibility of active face set)

But how should a user know about this functionality when it is hidden away from the user? :)

Maybe i ask the wrong question. In all other areas we have a show hidden, a hide selected and a hide unselected functionality. Why do we have four menu items here, with a from the user hidden away functionality? Shouldn't it work the same way for face sets like it does for all other cases?

But that's a UI UX design issue then. So feel free to close the issue. I was under the impression that i found a bug. Which i obviously didn't. Sorry for the false report.

This is not an issue exclusive to the #sculpt_paint_texture module. There are many operators that rely on the exact mouse position that are not part of the menus.
For example the mesh.select_linked_pick operator in edit mode via L. The sculpt.sample_color on S is also not part of any menu.

We could add these operators to the menu but they would be useless when used from there. I think this needs to be addressed in a broader way.
For example as a solution for the Transfer Mode operator on Alt Q we added a picker when executed from a menu, isntead of using the mouse position immediately. But customising this entry via the menu foesn't work.

Until we fix this issue, a clear manual and tutorials would help spread the knowledge of the keymap entries.
