System Information
Operating system: Linux-5.4.0-91-generic-x86_64-with-glibc2.27 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 390.144
Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.1.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2021-12-11 16:59, hash:
9df13fba69
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)
Short description of error
Two empties, one for the start point, one for the direction of a curve line. The direction empty is at the same time the start point for a second curve line, and a third empty is its direction donator. I would expect to get a chain of tubes with overshootable ends, but it doesn't.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Curve line direction mode works unexpectedto Geometry Nodes: Curve line direction mode works unexpectedAdded subscriber: @JacquesLucke
I'm not entirely sure, but maybe the confusion here is that the length of the direction input is ignored in favor of the separate length input. If you want to use the length of the direction, you have to calculate it manually. In this specific case it might be easier to use the Points mode of the Curve Line node though.

Experimenting with the node tree myself, I agree with Jacques. The socket tooltip even gives some information: "The length of this vector does not matter".
