Multi-Windows setup problem #94432

When working on multiple screens, with multiple Blender Windows open, each time when moving mouse to another window, this window has to be manualy activated by clicking before any other operation.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open new program window. Set it as 3D Viewport. Activate main program window by clicking it. Now hover the mouse over 3D Viewport in this new window and push shift+A or any other operation you want. It will not work until you activate this window by clicking it.

It seems like this is how it should be for "New Main Window", try using "New Window".

In both window creation methods result is the same.

Somebody created this simple app to allow for screen automatic selection.
Maybe this will help in diagnosing the problem?

Actually, macOS has the same behavior.

It's already on the TODO list - #69819 (Secondary Window Behaviors)

Better activation behavior as the mouse moves back and forth between the windows (don't require a click to activate another blender window so shortcuts can be pressed)

This is how the Windows OS works by default, and always has. Only one window is active and receives focus, at a time. You make a window active by clicking on it. Windows not in focus do not receive keyboard notifications.

You can change this behaviour though. Go to the Windows Control Panel and look for “Ease of Access Center”. In there is a link for “Make the mouse easier to use”, follow it and then turn on “Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse”.

Cinema 4D with 3 app windows works without a hickup. And it's mouse position sensitive, just like Blender.

You can change that value- its in the Registry somewhere - but you’ll find it hard to use if less than half a second or so. Otherwise every application pops into focus as you are just moving to a new place. You can find little helper apps that tune the settings. “X-mouse” is one I think.

I have experimented with turning on this change of mouse behaviour within Blender but so far having mixed results.
