Short description of error
After click export as DXF files, no files can be found in my computer. I tried both mesh lines and curves, also some different set-ups. Still not a single file was created.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

It looks like that, by default, it tries to name the file ".dxf". If you save without changing that name, it will wind up being a hidden file on MacOS and Linux.

Perhaps that's what is happening? I cannot reproduce this otherwise on MacOS.
