2.93.6 (LTS) - Dope Sheet Bug/Crash? #95617

Closed
opened 2022-02-08 15:43:56 +01:00 by Cal Niemi · 12 comments

System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19041-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 Intel 4.3.0 - Build 10.18.15.4248

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.93.6, branch: master, commit date: 2021-11-16 14:54, hash: c842a90e2f
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
Blender crash when moving Dope Sheet channel

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
I have a human character with Dope Sheet armature channels, and face shape driver channels. (MakeHuman 1.1.1 with .BVH loaded)

In the Dope Sheet, I selected the face shape driver channels, and grouped them ("Facials"). It was at the "bottom" of the character's channels. OK so far.

Then, I tried to move other face related armature channels down "To Bottom" of the channel list, to gather them together.

And... CRASH! Blender either comes to a dead stop, ... or disappears.

Have you tried with the most current version 2.93.8? https://www.blender.org/download/lts/2-93/
There have been so many bug fixes that you might give it a try.

@CalNiemi Hi, thanks for the report. Can not get the crash when I move channel to the bottom (tested on Blender 2.96 and current master)
Can you provide us crash logs? I guess crash occurred because of old GPU.
Please open Blender's installation directory and double click on the `blender_debug_gpu.cmd`. This will start Blender in debug mode and create log files. Try to reproduce the error again. Once it crashes or you close Blender manually the Windows Explorer should open and show you up to two files, a debug log and the system information. Add them to your bug report by clicking on the upload button as shown in the screenshot below or via drag and drop. Please also upload the crash log located in `C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\Temp\[project name].crash.txt` (or simply type `%TEMP%` into the path bar of the Windows Explorer).{[F8190038](https://archive.blender.org/developer/F8190038/2019_12_04_upload_icon_developer_blender_org.png)}
