I can confirm this crash on Linux for 3.0.1, see P2806 for details.
The backtrace looks very similiar to the one @iss shows in #94713 which has been fixed in 45bc4e3209.
What I find puzzling is that one would expect the daily builds older than this fix to crash like https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/archive/blender-3.1.0-alpha+master.fb470c256aac-linux.x86_64-release.tar.xz from November 22 but they don't.

It is possible, that crash was introduced after that date. Can you confirm issue in latest alpha or beta build? Otherwise we can close as resolved.

I can't try it because we use Linux at the office and I'm not the IT guy. @michael64 can you try it? For me that's a show stopper because I'm in the middle of a production and I need this resolved in order to deliver my job. :-)

Checked on Windows just in case and can't reproduce crash.

@Funnybob, grab the 3.0.1 RC from January 10th: https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/archive/blender-3.0.1-candidate+v30.8ca4d2087833-linux.x86_64-release.tar.xz .
This is the last version that works for me, the one from Jan 11 as well as the one from Jan 12 and 20 crash.
Maybe your IT guys can install that version for you.

The only alembic change between Jan 10 and 11 was 77694b571f which might be the cause which was fixed in 45bc4e3209.
The current 3.1.0 beta (Feb 18) does not crash so in the current versions it seems to be fixed on master and the blender-v3.1-release branch.
The fix 45bc4e3209 might be a candidate for the blender-v3.0-release so that this gets fixed for 3.0.2 as well.

Strange. I tried in USD. Since it's based on Alembic, I was curious. It doesn't crash but motion blur doesn't work. Should I send another bug report?

Will close if crash is fixed in recent versions.

Should I send another bug report?

Hi, make a new report

3.1 broke our pipeline. I need the latest version of 3.0 that worked, even if it was a beta version.
