System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: RTX 3060 Ti

Blender Version
Broken: (3.1.0 c77597cd0e master 2022-03-08 18:16)

Short description of error
When I tried to auto key multiple bones by select these and hit G > Mouse1 only the top of parented bone is keyed and nothing for anything else

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
・Add armature
・In edit mode -> extrude bone
・Enable Auto keying
・In pose mode -> Select All (A) ->Move/Rotate/Scale(but not make any transform, just apply) to add a keyframe

Test file with first 3 steps included:

Thanks for the report. You mean keyframe is not added for the parent bone (in pose mode)?

Steps for reproducing the issue are not clear to me.

  • Add armature
  • In edit mode -> extrude bone
  • Enable Auto keying
  • In pose mode -> Select All (A) -> Move bones to add a keyframe

You mean keyframe is not added for the parent bone (in pose mode)?

No, Only the parent bone gets keyframe and not for the child bones below, but in pose mode is right, I'm sorry I forgot to mention it.

Reproducing steps is

・Add armature
・In edit mode -> extrude bone
・Enable Auto keying
・In pose mode -> Select All (A) ->Move/Rotate/Scale(but not make any transform, just apply) to add a keyframe

Back then this process should add keyframe to every bone I select (and I think it supposed to)

also this is only happening to bones that are parented and if I select multiple bones that are don't have any parents, then all bones are get keyframed.

Hi, thanks for the information.
This seems to happen with auto keying only.
When I add keyframe from Insert Keyframe Menu ({key I}). It also adds keyframe for extruded bones.

Confirming for now.

This is expected behavior.
When moving those 3 bones in the example, you are actually only moving the parent, since the children are automatically moved by their relationship (moving those as well would create double transformations).
Because of that, the autokeying system only keys the parent.
As already mentioned, hitting I to create a keyframe will do what you expect in that case
