UV Projection Bug #97574

Hi.
If I create a standard cylinder in blender and Maya and go into editing uv and create a cylindrical projection for it in both programs, I expect the same result. In practice, it turns out what is in the picture.
What the hell is blender doing? It's the same with spherical projection.

It was also necessary to set up the trajectory for the object. The cylinder will be fine. With a sphere, why not smooth borders? Everything is fine in Maya.

- The projection is view dependent. If you are using orthographic projection in the viewport (controlled via *Numpad 5*) and look at the cylinder from the front (*Numpad 1*), then the result of *U > [Cylinder Projection ]]*will look as expected. The same applies for the*[[ https:*docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/modeling/meshes/editing/uv.html#sphere-projection | Sphere Projection ](https:*docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/modeling/meshes/editing/uv.html#cylinder-projection)*. Alternatively, you can set the direction to *Align to Object*. - If the seam is not set perfectly, you can rotate the view slightly around the Z-axis (Numpad 6) and it should unwrap as expected. - Planar projection is called *[Project from View ](https:*docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/modeling/meshes/editing/uv.html#project-from-view)//.
