System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: 1660s
Blender Version
Broken: 3.1.2
Short description of error
Blender crashes after going to Edit Mode and when trying to use the knife tool (with Subdivision On Cage on).
If I turn off On Cage before that, everything is fine.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
The object has two modifiers: Mirror and Subdivision with On Cage enabled.

Changed status from 'Needs Triage' to: 'Needs User Info'
Seems like a GPU subdivision issue, I can't confirm it myself, but can you try disabling GPU subdivision in Preferences > Viewport > Subdivision? Does the crashes stop then?
With the GPU subdivision off, it doesn't seem to crash. At least, so far I have not been able to repeat it.
Changed status from 'Needs User Info' to: 'Needs Triage'
Okay. I will leave this to someone who can triage with GPU subdivision.
