Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.1.2, branch: master, commit date: 2022-03-31 17:40, hash:

Short description of error
When tabbing into edit mode on the UV Editor tab, blender crashes to the desktop. This seems to occur with this model i created from a tutorial. I tried to reproduce this
on a simple mesh with Subdivision Modifier (cube) and there it did not crash. When applying the modifier first on the body object OR having the viewport resolution on 0, there is no issue. Increasing the viewport resolution after entering Edit mode, blender is not crashing.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
When going to the UV Editor tab, selecting the mesh in object mode and tabbing to edit mode, blender exits to the desktop every time when the viewport resolution is higher than 0.

Can you attach the crash log created by Blender when it crashes? https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/troubleshooting/crash.html
Does disabling GPU subdivision in Preferences > Viewport > Subdivision resolves the crashes?
Hello Omar, i attached the crash log.
With GPU Render in viewport dissabled, it works without problem.
Regards,
Marcel

Crash is probably fixed already: #96338 (GPU subdivision: Crash when switch to UV editor or unwarpping with 'Display Stretch' overlay)
Please download and test in latest development build: https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/
I had tried 3.2.0 Beta from today before posting the report and had the same result.
As in the ticket: (and blender-3.2.0-beta+v32.841a354412c4-windows.amd64-release from 26-05-2022)

Thanks for the update, Need to check again.

Still no crash
I just need to switch to UV editor workspace after opening, right? Am I missing something. (AFAICS, object is already in edit mode)
Hi, i tested the file again with GPU enabled Subdivision in the preferences for the viewport enabled, and when i select the body and tab to go to edit mode, blender exits to desktop yes.
If i save the file when Edit mode is enabled, and try to open the file at start, Blender exits inmmediatly.

Added the crashlog from this test as well. I Noticed you test on an Intel Gfxcard where i use a NVidia 2070, might be gfx card/drivers related then?

@iss, can you repro this crash?
No crash here after switching to UV workspace with or without GPU subdiv.
Added subscriber: @lichtwerk
No crash here either
Added subscriber: @deadpin
I can reproduce the crash with 3.1.2 but not with 3.2 or 3.3.
To get it to crash:
Changed status from 'Needs Triage' to: 'Archived'
@deadpin Thanks for steps, can confirm crash with GPU subdiv enabled in 3.1.2, but not in later versions. So will close this report, since the issue has been fixed.
