System Information
Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: RTX 2080 ti

Blender Version
Broken: 3.2, master
Worked: None

Short description of error

The modal time speeds up when dragging UI panels

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file, just execute the script loaded in the text editor, it will run as expected, and count each second, but after dragging any UI panel, it speeds up (Check in the video).

Confirmed here. After this issue occurs, the timer is "stuck" in this state so even Canceling the current modal operation and timer (right-click or esc) and re-invoking the operator to create another timer, the behavior is still broken.

This is a long standing issue it seems:

  • On 2.83.x - the timer exhibits similar behavior during a Panel drag where the timer speeds up. However, after you stop dragging the Panel, the timer goes back to normal
  • On 2.93 onwards - the timer exhibits the current behavior where a Panel drag forever breaks the timer
