System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19044-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 512.95

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.2.0, branch: master, commit date: 2022-06-08 10:22, hash: e05e1e3691
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error

  1. rendering from images succeeds with v3.0 and not with 3.2
  2. When Blender crush the system memory is still filled with Blender data
  3. Keyframes have bugs

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. rendering from images succeeds with v3.0 and not with 3.2. I tried the same written way on "https://www.wikihow.com/Save-an-Animation-in-Blender" it succeeded 10th times, but after installing V3.2, I tried at least 6 or maybe 8 times, and every time the render start without using the already built images.
  2. When Blender crush the system memory is still filled with Blender data (I guess). How I notice that the first upload time is fast, but if Blender close unexpectedly, and I reopen the Blender, the same file takes 5 to 10 times more. Another remark, when the Blender close unexpectedly, I notice with the task manager I get two blender software are opened and memory reserved is doubled, where the crushed one is still hidden (cannot reach it)
  3. The keyframes have a lot of bugs. this needs another bugs report.

Please create separate bug reports for each issue and do not assign the ticket to yourself, unless you intend to work on fixing the underlying issue.

Regarding your report:

  • Please provide a minimal example project that fails to render in Blender 3.2.0.
  • Based on your description it sounds like your system is running out of memory, thus Blender becomes unresponsive and/or crashes because the operating system terminates the application. Once the physically available memory is exceeded, Windows will use a swap file on your hard drive to cover the demand. However, accessing the hard drive and swapping memory pages in and out costs a significant amount of time. Hence, if you start another Blender instance then you will experience a significantly slower application. Eventually the operating system will terminate the application if it exceeds memory usage beyond what can be sustained and then releases the allocated resources, but that can take some time. The behavior you are describing is therefore expected and not a bug in Blender. By reducing the complexity of the geometry and textures sizes you may be able to reduced the required memory to a level that allows you to render the project on your computer.

Unfortunately, the description about issues with keyframes is to vague to investigate.

Please edit this bug report to include relevant information for problem 1) and a separate bug report for 3).
