Short description of error
Boolean object randomly appears during playback/render
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Using different object, I add a boolean modifier to my object. change the operation to "difference"
Upon playing back the timeline, the boolean object randomly appears during playback or the object being bool, disapears.

Hi, thanks for the report. I'm not able to repro this with primitive meshes.
Can you upload your .blend?
HourglassBuildUp-JUNE30.blend
Hi Patrick, here is the file.. thanks..
Hi, thanks for the file. Which object you're talking about? the one named as
Phil
?Do you mean that object frequently appears and then disappears? I'm did not notice such behavior in your file.
Any particular frame you know at which you've encountered the problem?
poke
Hello.. frame 183 ... the right-hand character disappears for a couple of frames
Frame 247.. he disappears again..
the boolean object does not appear though.. was able to reproduce it on frame 199 with this file..
HourglassBuildUp.blend
Still not able to replicable. Could you check with factory settings just to be sure?: {nav File > Defaults > Load Factory Settings}
HourglassBuildUp-AUG08.blend
Loaded factory settings.. then tried with this file.. frame 264, the boolean object pops up, even though it is hidden and "not visible from camera"
thx.

I can repro the boolean failing with both
Fast
andExact
methods by default. However, I can get it to do the correct thing if I enable
Self Intersection
on theExact
Solver like in this (simplified) file:T99320_repro.blend
Booleans are generally a pretty though thing to get right in all scenarios (will likely not be considered a bug), but having this option available at least solves the issue for me.
(note this is of course quite a bit slower).
@Marc-Poirier : does this work for you?
