Fixed stroke shrinking function for correct length handling. Now Length modifier in both relative and absolute mode works correctly, and they handles 0 length situations correctly.

Have just re-tried by moving both objects after creation to a different position in the scene and it works. Previous attempt was at 0,0,0, Is it a scene issue?

I'm getting this problem repeatedly in 2.80. Sometimes the Boolean difference works. It seems that the previous operations are conflicting, As if you only get one chance. Restarting seems to clear issue , sometimes.

Not necessary any more since particle meshing functionality is included as mode toggle inside D4960 (voxel remesher / metaball remesher)

  • Improved the gaussian smoothing algorithm and using this instead of openvdbs standard gaussian
  • added sharpen edges / corners feature for voxel remesher to try to preserve original features of the mesh
  • included particle meshing mode into voxel remesher. It belongs there too, since it shares openvdb and volume csg logic. This would be duplicated otherwise. A new modifier also creates more noise as other modifier devs need to take care of new numbering, modifying a lot of more files etc. It is just more hassle to add a new modifier than to add a new mode to a thematically totally related modifier, aka remeshing. It is also easier for users to remember to look for one modifier and know that the functionality is grouped in there.

Sergey and I noticed that this will still break if the vertex count of the mesh is the same (but not the topology) or if the input vertex weight group is animated.
However, we deemed that these use cases are not that common and we are unsure if it would be worth to try to guard against these issues at this point in time.

  • applied rotation

updated the drivers from nvidia and had an auto windows update.

As usual this can go away by slightly translating or rotating (but is pretty stubborn in this example)

but I disabled it I can't use it like I want. I think this is slowing down at death what I wanted to do. and the result is very precise to work in not to high poly in sculpt mode and see directly the result that you will have in the render. but never mind...

We have T58191, T59333, T60733 open already.
Without having your .blend file it is kinda hard to decide which report to merge into, my guess is we are dealing with ngons here? (then it would be one of the later...)

This is just a clear warning/error that that modifier has severe limitations in sculptmode.
Spitting this to the console was added in rB552b2287db86.
I personally dont mind having this in the console as well and would lean towards not calling this a bug...

Steps to reproduce the file:

  1. Delete everything from default scene
  2. Add Cylinder
  3. Add Cube (Will not work with default cube.)
  4. Scale Cube by 3
  5. Scale Cube by 0.5 along Z axis
  6. (optional, but better visibility) Set Cube 'Viewport Display' to 'Display As: Wire'
  7. Add Boolean modifier to Cylinder with 'Target: Cube'
  8. Move Cube along Z axis (somewhere between -0.5m and 1.5m)

Note: Order of steps does not really matter, but the scaling dimensions are somehow crucial.

Thank you, Demeter (hope I'm not confusing your name with your family name :) ) . That bug, or what it is, looks pretty old (reproducible in every Blender version I tried - down to 2.61, at a bit different bone rotation angle though) but only in 2.80 it somehow gained prominence. I consider it critical cause you don't want your character flashing with random mesh explosions during animation and not using b-bones at all also not looks like a good thing. But with 200-300 open unsorted bug reports and few dozens new a day you, developers, sure have your hands full.
